About Us
Empowering Japanese Professionals with Global Communication

History
At Language House, we have been empowering Japanese professionals since 1976 with our innovative approach to business English education. The Language House story began some 60 years ago when a young man from New Zealand, Graham Page, arrived in Japan with a dream of teaching English to Japanese learners. He quickly realized that the standardized way of teaching English in Japan was not the most effective way for Japanese people to communicate in English, and began developing his own philosophy and methods to help learners “Communicate and Persuade.” Years were spent creating materials and proprietary textbooks that incorporated this philosophy. They were tested with students and finalized versions were published. In 1976, Language House Inc was born. The company has steadily expanded throughout Shikoku and has become the leading Business English company in Western Japan.
